Loud and Clear:

Bow Mechanics for Tone Production
Maddy Smith

A good fiddle sound starts with the bow. In this workshop, we'll explore the fundamentals of bow mechanics and how they affect tone, volume, and ease of playing. Through simple exercises, participants will learn how factors such as bow speed, weight, contact point, and arm movement work together to produce a clear, resonant sound. Whether you're an absolute beginner looking to build a strong foundation or a more experienced player hoping to refine your tone, this session will offer practical tools for getting a bigger, cleaner, and more confident sound from your instrument.
