Banjo from Scratch
This workshop is expressly for people who have not yet mastered the basic "bum-ditty" strum pattern of clawhammer banjo. The bum-ditty can be be challenging to learn on your own, but it's like riding a bike -- once you have it, you have it forever, and a universe of music is open to you.
We'll break down the "bum-ditty" pattern and then apply it to a well-known but simple tune that you can practice on your own. Materials include basic banjo chords, a visual guide to the bum-ditty, and a list of helpful YouTube videos.
