Fiddle from Scratch

This session is for anyone who wants to play fiddle and wants a place to get started with the most basic stuff. You do not need to know anything about playing fiddle to succeed in this session. You do not need to read music. The session will give you useful information even if you don't yet have a fiddle, but will be a lot more fun if you can bring one to the workshop so that you have something to play.

In one short hour, you will learn about the differences between violin and fiddle, how to hold and tune the fiddle, how to tighten, rosin and hold the bow, how to play a scale & how to play a familiar tune in the keys of G, D & A. Handouts will be provided.
